Remote Desktop from Windows XP to MS Server 2008
ตามปกติแล้ว Windows XP จะไม่สามารถใช้โปแกรม Remote Desktop ไปยัง Windows Server 2008 หรือ Vista ได้ เนื่องจาก Network Level Authentication แตกต่างกัน ขณะที่ Windows Vista สามารถใช้คุณสมบัตินี้ได้เลยไม่ต้องปรับแต่งค่าใด ๆ ด้วยเหตุผลทางการตลาดหรือเพื่อความปลอดภัยกันนะ.. (ใครทำงาน Microsoft วานบอกที)
ขั้นตอนการกำหนดค่า Remote Desktop
1. ที่เครื่อง Windows Server 2008 เลือก Allow connections from computers … (less secure) ถ้าเลือกแบบ (more secure) จะอนุญาตเฉพาะ Remote Desktop จาก Windows Vista อย่างเดียว
เมื่อพยายามใช้ Remote Desktop จาก Windows XP จะขึ้นข้อความ error ดังภาพตัวอย่าง
2. โหลดและติดตั้งโปรแกรม Remote Desktop Client for Windows XP เวอร์ชั่นล่าสุด

3. run คำสั่ง regedit เพื่อแก้ไขค่า String value โดยไปที่ HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlLsa
คลิกขวาที่ Security Packages เลือก Modify แล้วเพิ่ม String Value คือ tspkg เข้าไป
4. ไปที่ KEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlSecurityProviders ทำการเพิ่ม String Value คือ credssp.dll เข้าไปดังภาพ
5. ปิดโปรแกรม Registry Editor
6. ทำการ Restart เครื่องใหม่
ข้อ 2-6 ให้ทำการติดตั้งและแก้ไข Registry ที่เครื่อง Windows XP นะครับ
ผมเคยลองแล้ว แค่กำหนด Allow connections from computers … (less secure) ก็สามารถใช้ได้เลยครับ ไม่ต้องแก้ไข registry
